Wild Harmony Group show
An art show that explores the beauty of contradiction
On view at Nuwave: June - August 2025
Opening Party: June 6, 6–9 p.m. | Second Reception: August 1, 5–8 p.m.
This summer, Nuwave Gallery in downtown Ellensburg, Washington invites you to experience Wild Harmony — a curated art show that captures the tension, beauty, and unity found in contrast. Featuring works by six talented Pacific Northwest artists, this show brings together diverse perspectives, mediums, and styles to explore the harmony that emerges when opposites collide. From abstract paintings and encaustic wax to wildlife photography, ink figure drawings, and plein air landscapes, the exhibition offers something for every art lover.
Whether you're visiting Ellensburg for a weekend getaway, driving through Central Washington on your way to the mountains, or looking for original art to purchase, this is a stop worth making. All artwork in the show is available for sale, offering a unique opportunity to bring home a meaningful piece created by a regional artist.
The concept of Wild Harmony is rooted in the beauty of contradiction — the wild coexisting with the serene, the spontaneous alongside the structured, the abstract paired with the familiar. Each piece in the show contributes to this dialogue, inviting viewers to reflect on how contrast can reveal unexpected balance. The result is an art exhibit that feels both energizing and grounding, making it perfect for those looking to reconnect with art, nature, and a sense of place.
The artists of Wild Harmony have each discovered profound balance through the act of creative expression—uniting contradiction, collaboration, and the natural world into singular works of art. This collection, on display at Nuwave Gallery in Ellensburg, Washington, celebrates the idea that opposing forces—style, medium, message—can blend into something striking, unexpected, and harmonious. It’s a visual journey of balance and tension, movement and stillness, curiosity and resolution.
In the collaborative pieces by Jamaica Zoglman and Aislinn Hematyar, two uniquely different artists unite their visions in works that balance strength and softness. Zoglman’s expressive ink and acrylic figures—hands cradling liquid gold, ancient female forms, and single-line portraits—float powerfully atop Hematyar’s abstract landscapes of gold foil, organic texture, and floral forms. These paintings embody Wild Harmony by merging the figurative with the abstract, and the literal with the symbolic—transforming their differences into unity on the canvas.
Tyler Rablin, a wildlife and nature photographer from Sunnyside, WA, reveals harmony in contrast through the lens. His work captures pivotal moments in the natural world—eagles feeding on Kokanee salmon, bison thriving in the Grand Tetons, wildfires leaving behind stunning alpine landscapes. These scenes reflect a deeper ecological truth: devastation often creates the conditions for new life. Through thoughtful composition and a reverence for place, Rablin’s photography inspires reflection on the fragile and beautiful balance between humanity and nature.
Painter and gallery owner Erin Oostra brings her own interpretation of Wild Harmony by combining a range of styles and techniques in her artwork. From bold abstracts and richly textured florals to soft oceanscapes and layered landscapes, Erin’s pieces invite the viewer to find coherence where contrasts meet. Each painting is a study in balance—between light and dark, stillness and motion, realism and abstraction—resulting in compositions unlike anything else. Her work pushes boundaries while evoking familiarity, resonating with the awe of the Pacific Northwest.
Jen Chambers delves into emotional depth with her mixed media and encaustic work, layering texture and motion to reflect life’s chaos and its search for peace. Her paintings hint at multiple directions and meanings, with a mysterious, almost spiritual energy beneath the surface. These pieces invite introspection, offering a visual metaphor for the wild, untamed process of life itself.
Mary Diefenbach Duke merges seemingly random and distinct mediums—encaustic wax, silk paper, ink—into unified pieces that feel both delicate and grounded. Her wildflowers are captured in a way that honors both their fragility and their resilience, a testament to harmony found in nature’s smallest details.
Vera Ranguelova, working in the ancient medium of encaustic painting, explores the tension between control and spontaneity. “Each painting,” she explains, “either through abstraction or adding an element that doesn’t exist in reality, plays with the idea of a surprise that is in harmony with a story or an idea.” Her work speaks to the unexpected—how the unknown can feel familiar when it’s in visual harmony with emotion or meaning.
Even the candle collaborations between Tyler Rablin and Nest + Flow Handmade Goods reflect Wild Harmony—pairing scent and image, emotion and memory, created by a husband and wife who share a deep love for the outdoors.
Through photography, wax, silk, foil, acrylics, ink, and scent, Wild Harmony is a celebration of coexistence. It’s about the beauty that arises when differences come together: when humans protect nature, when artists collaborate, and when contrast gives way to connection. For those exploring art in Washington, looking for fine art for sale, or passing through Central Washington on a road trip, Wild Harmony at Nuwave Gallery is an inspiring destination where contradiction becomes cohesion—and art becomes an experience.
